“This part of the Tetovë-Prizren corridor is important because with this the field work is starting for the realization of this nationwide project. We believe that even with the design of the tunnel, the dream of Albanians to connect through Sharr is coming true”, said Bilall Kasami, Mayor of Tetovë Municipality

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport in North Macedonia announces that work is currently being done on the design of the tunnel which will connect the Tetovë-Prizren road, after which comes the process of securing funds for construction.

After the complete construction of this road, the road distance from about three hours, which is currently through the existing border points, will be shortened to only 40 minutes. This reduction in time will give a powerful boost to the economy, trade exchanges and mountain tourism on both sides of the border.
