The new English football season starts today with a super match. Arsenal and Manchester City will face each other in the final of the Community Shield, in a duel that brings together the Premier League champions and the FA Cup winners.

The match will take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, while the start is at 16:00 according to Kosovo time. This is the return of the Community Shield to Cardiff after 20 years, as Wembley is not available this time.

Arsenal come into this match as Premier League champions and with big ambitions to start the season with trophies. Mikel Arteta has received good news ahead of the final, as Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Martin Zubimendi are ready to play.

On the other hand, Manchester City start a new era. Enzo Maresca will take charge of the team in his first official game since Pep Guardiola’s departure, with an immediate chance to win a trophy.

The two teams also met in the 2023 Community Shield, when Arsenal won on penalties. Even the last three editions of this trophy have ended with penalties, adding even more excitement to today’s confrontation.

A great spectacle is expected in Cardiff, with Arsenal and Manchester City aiming to start the 2026/27 season with the first trophy in the showcase.
