The opposition assemblywoman in the Municipal Assembly of Prizren, Dafina Alishani from LVV, in today’s session raised concerns and demanded an account for the subsidies allocated for culture in the Municipality of Prizren. She said that there have been misuses and claimed that some members of the commission have allocated subsidies to their family members, Gazeta e Prizren reports.

“There are members of the commission for allocation of subsidies, who have allocated subsidies to themselves. How is it possible for a member of the commission to give a subsidy to a family member? 800,000 euros are in question. Public money is being misused. For this, I ask the Evaluation Committee to come and declare. neither the mayor nor the director are taking responsibility”, asked Alishani, without naming names.

According to her, the Mayor of the municipality made a festival for fun, while the means were given for this, while the others were not. Alishani asked how it is possible for this to happen?

This was answered by the chairman of the Municipal Assembly, Simir Krasniqi, who said that the declaration of the commission before the Assembly is not a legal obligation and put the proposal to the vote as an agenda item.
