A source close to the matter confirmed that inspections have been carried out at the Commission’s premises.
According to a 2024 press release, 23 buildings that previously owned by the Commission were sold to the Belgian state for €900 million ($1.07 billion).

“As far as the European Commission is concerned, the sale of the buildings has been carried out according to established procedures and protocols and we are confident that the process is developed in accordance with the rules”, he added.
