Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has called on the countries of the Islamic world to act urgently to prevent further escalation of the situation in the Middle East.

According to statements broadcast by the Turkish news agency Anadolu Agency, Erdogan said he will accelerate diplomatic efforts to reach a ceasefire and return to the negotiating table.

He said “deeply” worried about the American-Israeli attacks on Iran, which, according to him, “started with Netanyahu’s provocations”.

“We also consider Iran’s missile and drone attacks against our brotherly countries in the Persian Gulf unacceptable, regardless of the reason”, added the Turkish president. /message
