The Acting President of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, has expressed regret that the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo have rejected the invitations for the meeting on Tuesday. She said that this rejection was wrong and reckless.

She said that the citizens of Kosovo are constantly speaking clearly through the elections, while it is the duty of the party leaders to implement the will of the citizens in practice.

“Allow me to express my full regret that despite my sincere invitation, political entities such as PDK and AAK rejected the same. I consider this rejection to be a wrong, reckless action and above all a lack of the will to overcome the barricading positions. The citizens of the country are constantly speaking through the elections, while it is our duty to implement it in practice. The elections should be the last option, if not at all. I hope that the meeting will be as useful as possible towards finding a solution”, Haxhiu wrote on Facebook.

Haxhiu had invited the leaders of the political parties or their representatives for a joint meeting on Tuesday at 9:00.

The meeting, according to Haxhiu’s call, is consultative and is held in relation to current political and institutional developments and the importance of reaching an agreement on the consensual president, and also on the formation of other institutions.
