The beginning of the week has brought an increased flow of movements on the Kosovo-Albania border, where thousands of citizens are heading to the Albanian coast to spend their summer vacations.

After a few days spent in their homeland, a large number of emigrants from Kosovo have started their journey to tourist areas in Albania. Among them there are also many vacationers who live in Kosovo and have chosen the Albanian coast for their August holidays.

At the Morin Border Crossing Point, all the counters have been put into operation, while the border authorities are working with accelerated procedures to cope with the flow of vehicles and travelers. The simplified procedure applies to vehicles with foreign license plates, which for the most part belong to Kosovo emigrants.

Meanwhile, vehicles with Kosovo and Albanian license plates pass without border controls, based on the agreement to facilitate movement between the two countries.

Despite the large number of vehicles, the situation at the border remains calm and manageable. The waits do not exceed 5 minutes, while the circulation develops normally thanks to the organization of the border authorities.

The flow was expected, since the month of August is considered the peak of the tourist season, when hundreds of expatriates in Kosovo who live in different countries of Europe spend their vacations in Kosovo and Albania. Only during the first two days of August, which coincided with the weekend, more than 50,000 vacationers from Kosovo entered Albania, including members of the diaspora.

The authorities expect that the flow will remain high during the following days, especially on the weekends of August, when an even greater number of travelers is expected in both directions of the border.
