The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, has condemned the joint US-Israeli attacks on Iran, describing them as “completely unprovoked, illegal and illegitimate”, reports Anadolu.

“Netanyahu and Trump’s war against Iran is completely unprovoked, illegal and illegitimate”, Araghchi said on the American social network X.

He said that President Trump has turned the “America First” initiative into “Israel First”, which always means “America Last”.

“Our powerful armed forces are prepared for this day and will teach the aggressors the lesson they deserve”, Araghchi said.

This morning, Israel launched a “pre-emptive” attack on Iran, as well as declared a “special and immediate” state of emergency throughout

Later, Trump declared that his forces launched “major combat operations” in Iran with the aim of “protecting the American people by eliminating immediate threats from Iranian authorities”.

The attacks come as talks between Washington and Tehran on Iran’s nuclear program have been ongoing under the mediation of Oman. The latest round of talks in Geneva ended on Thursday.

Last June, the US struck three Iranian nuclear facilities during the 12-day Israel-Iran war.
