‘Kosovo, a model of inter-faith tolerance’- Engel

US Congressman and co-head of Foreign Affairs Committee Eliot Engel is paying an official visit to Kosovo.

Engel was received today by deputy minister of Foreign Affairs, Petrit Selimi as well as religious clergy in Kosovo.
Selimi, along with religious leaders and team for Interfaith Dialogue Initiative, informed the US congressman regarding the success of the project for Kosovo public diplomacy in the field of interfaith dialogue.
On this occasion, Selimi presented the project of inter-religious dialogue, including the main aims of Kosovo diplomacy at improving the image of Kosovo and promoting tolerance agenda.
Congressman Engel on the other hand expressed his support for Selimi’s and Interfaith Dialogue Initiative team while expressing at the same time his gratitude for the initiative on Holocaust stone establishment in Kosovo government courtyard.

Congressman Engel noted that Kosovo was a state that could show to the world that there is no need to fear the Muslim majority, but take lessons on how the majority is respectful and tolerance promoter of minorities. Engel pledged for continuation of support for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs projects, including lobbying in Israel, the Caribbean and Latin America.
The meeting was also attended by US Ambassador Tracy Jacobson, the Albanian-American businessman Harry Bajraktari, editor of Illyria Vehbi Bajrami and others.
Norwegian Ambassador Jan Braathu and EU, German and British Embassies representatives attended the meeting in their capacity as MFA project for inter-faith dialogue supporters.
