Schools start classes without a diary, the ministry promises a solution, it is justified that it engaged a cheaper operator

On the teachers’ shelves, there are only old diaries.

This is because the diaries of the new school year have not yet been delivered to the schools in the country.

Thus, on the first and second day, the teachers had no place to write down the lessons held or to record the students’ absences.

And this, according to the director of education in the Municipality of Pristina, Ariani Elshan, is making it difficult to proceed.

“Currently, absences of students in school hours are also reported, since absences are not reported, that is why we are taking actions so that teachers have a list in front of them and record the absences of students within the classrooms. This work is like a person going to the office and not taking his work tools with him. The first effect is on the seriousness of the teacher in relation to the student, then also the issue of evaluation and the director of education in the Municipality of Pristina, Arianit Elshani, said that this is not the first time that such delays have occurred during the day, there is probably a bit of work to be done and it is not possible to record the time that they are working or to record the names of the students”, said Ymeri from the SBASHK.

In an answer to Tëvë1, the Ministry of Education has shown some of the reasons that have led to the delay in equipping schools with diaries.

“The Ministry of Education and Science and the municipalities have fulfilled the procedural obligations for providing school documentation for educational institutions pre-university, including the class book (diary) and other school documentation. As a result, from this school year, we have a new operator with significantly lower prices than until now. The selected operator has informed us that there are some delays for operational reasons, but he has also promised that the distribution of diaries and other school documentation will start as soon as possible”, said the Ministry of Education for Tëvë1.

In relation to the delays in school documentation, through a reaction, the Association of Municipalities of Kosovo has also expressed concerns and asked the Ministry to urgently fulfill its obligations.
