The Director of the Department for Public Order and Security at the DPPSH, Dhimitraq Ziu, has said that there will be at least 1,600 additional policemen from several structures on the ground.

“The State Police has undertaken a plan of measures for the smooth running of the tourist season, where 1,600 officers will be on the ground. These policemen have been taken from the Eagle Forces, the Traffic Police, the Operation Forces and of National Security”, he said.

In some of the areas that can be considered more problematic, there will be an increased presence of police, but also temporary police stations.

“The areas that we consider to be black and problematic are the axis towards Lezha and the beaches of Shengjin and Tale, the road towards Vlora and the beaches of Himara and Saranda, the road Durrës-Golem and Lushnjë-Fier “In addition to the number of police officers, several temporary police stations will also be set up in Valbona, Theth, Koman, Tale, Gjirin e Lalzi and Ksamil. Here we also refer to mountain tourism, not only coastal tourism.” said Ziu.

In order to guarantee a safe and problem-free tourist season for vacationers, the Albanian police will also cooperate with similar structures in neighboring countries.

“International police cooperation for the summer will be with Kosovo, Montenegro, Italy and North Macedonia. State Police employees are sent for joint patrol services, while there are also police units from these states that come to our country.” he said.

Throughout the tourist season, radars and the latest technology tools will be on the road to monitor the movement and traffic of vehicles, to prevent violations of the Highway Code that cause accidents.
