Sigal Pristina announced Balkan basketball champion

“Sigal Pristina” basketball club was announced Balkan champion last night, thus marking a big success in the history of Kosovo basketball.

The blue and whites are the first club in the history of Kosovo basketball to have won a Balkan league, defeating in the final Rilsk of Bulgaria 80 to 71.

The first match played last Tuesday ended with a narrow result of 74:72 in favor of Pristina, winning the return match with a nine point difference.

The fans from Pristina had traveled to Samokov to support their team which didn’t disappoint, giving a historical trophy to the Albanian basketball club.

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Kujtim Shala, has congratulated Sigal Pristina on this historical victory against Rilsk.

“This is an extraordinary and historical step of Kosovo basketball and sport. At the same time, the triumph of Sigal Pristina shows the quality of our sport”.

Enthusiastic about this victory, minister Shala which marks a historical moment for Kosovo’s sport and its advancement in the international arena.
