Prosecutors in the eastern German state of Brandenburg today charged a pediatrician with child sexual abuse and rape, alleging he committed about 130 crimes against patients over more than a decade, Anadolu reports.

The public prosecutor’s office in Potsdam said many of the most serious crimes occurred while the doctor was practicing his professional duties at the Havelland Kliniken hospital between 2013 and 2025.

Authorities arrested the suspect in November after the mother of a child reported suspected sexual abuse at a clinic in Rathenow. The suspect, who was 45 years old at the time of the arrest, has since been held in custody.

The charges were filed at the regional court in Potsdam. Now the judges will review the evidence to determine if the case will go to trial.
