The judgment against the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, in the court case before the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo in The Hague, will be announced on September 16 and the hearing is expected to last two hours. According to the latest announcement of the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo, the hearing for the announcement of the verdict will start at 10:00 a.m. and is scheduled to end at 12:00. The rooms Specialized have also announced that journalists who wish to follow the session from the public gallery or from the media center must register in advance. The verdict marks the end of the first-instance trial against four former leaders of the KLA, who are being tried on charges related to allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during and after the war in Kosovo. The Specialized Prosecutor's Office has accused Thaci, Veseli, Krasniq and Selim of a series of criminal offences, including persecution, imprisonment, torture, murder and enforced disappearance. The former leaders of the KLA have denied the charges and declared themselves innocent. The trial started in April 2023 and during it witnesses were heard and evidence was administered by the Prosecution and the defense teams.
