Southeast Asia has recently been facing the return of the virus known as “Nipah”, the consequences of which end in the death of the affected persons.

This topic was discussed in the show “Taste of Home” on TV Klan, where the doctor Aurora Dollenberg explained what this virus is, how it is obtained, its origin and the level of its danger.

Initially, the doctor says that this virus poses a risk of high since based on the previous figures, the mortality rate goes up to 75%.

“The figures and statistics that we have had from the past decades when Nipah has appeared, show that the mortality rate goes up to 75% if we are infected by this virus. That is why the alarm is so great given by the WHO, which now does not expect to have many cases in Europe to make the national quarantine of those countries. Only two cases of Nipah in a certain country, which forces that country to take measures”, explains Dollenberg.

The good news is that no one has been reported infected in Europe so far, but this does not mean that there is no possibility of being affected by this virus.

There was a call for all Albanian consumers to be careful with food, especially those of Asian origin, as there is a possibility of contamination of this virus.

“It exists. the danger. Not only the passengers, but also the food, because we have to emphasize, perhaps for the Albanian housewives who follow us, that we have to be very careful with the food that may have the country of origin. Especially the fruits are the main ones, because we know that the fruits, especially the Indian ones, can come into contact with either the bat or the pig, which are the main source of the Nipah virus”, she explains. of Health has confirmed two cases since December, stressing that the virus was “contained in time”. According to the authorities, about 200 people who had close contact with the infected have been tested and no other cases have been detected.
