PKK targets in Zap and Metina regions were successfully destroyed, Turkish army says
Turkish jets have carried out airstrikes on PKK terrorist bases in northern Iraq on Friday, the Turkish army said.
According to a statement issued by the Turkish General Staff, four F-16 fighter jets destroyed PKK targets, including shelters, caves and ammunition depots in the region of Zap early Friday morning.
Eight F-4 2020 fighter jets also destroyed PKK targets such as ammunition depots and shelters in the region of Metina a few hours later, the army added.
More than 300 members of the security forces have been martyred since the PKK, which is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU, resumed its 30-year armed campaign in July.
Thousands of PKK terrorists have also been killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq. /WorldBulletin/
