Manchester United and Liverpool have entered the race for the transfer of Portuguese winger Francisco Conceição, as both clubs look to strengthen for the 2026/27 season.

So far, the summer transfer window has been relatively quiet for both teams.

Manchester United have approached Karl Darlow, Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos, while Liverpool have only signed winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna for £35m.

Given that both clubs will be competing in the Champions League, it is not unusual for them to have common targets in the market.

Earlier in July it was reported that United and Liverpool were also competing for Roma midfielder Manu Koné following his impressive performances in Serie A.

Roma are said to be willing to sell the Frenchman due to financial problems, while the Premier League is considered the most likely destination for the 25-year-old.

However, according to “Gazzetta dello Sport”, Koné is not the only player wanted by the two English giants.

The report reveals that Juventus is ready to sell Francisco Conceiçao, after reaching an agreement for the transfer of Bosnian talent Kerim Alajbegovic, in an operation that could reach the value of 40 million euros (34 million pounds).

This huge investment for an 18-year-old footballer who has only 44 games as a professional is expected to be partly financed by the sale of Conceição.

According to the same source, super agent Jorge Mendes has already held talks with his client about the future, after Manchester United and Liverpool have made requests for information about the possibility of a transfer.

Conceição was once considered one of the most promising talents. of European football, after developing at Porto’s academy, but his career has stalled in recent years.

The 23-year-old, who has played 21 matches for the Portuguese national team, registered just nine contributions to goals in 42 appearances for Juventus last season, while he scored just one goal in nine Champions League matches.

For this reason, Juventus leaders are not satisfied with his performance and are willing to sell him. for an amount between 40 and 50 million euros.

Conceição is mainly active on the right wing of the attack. Liverpool could see him as a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.

On the other hand, Manchester United already have Bryan Mbeumon and Amad Diallo available for that position, but Conceição would have the chance to fight for a starting spot in coach Michael Carrick’s line-up.
